Sigmund Freud with his daughter Anna, 1920.
Anna Freud, who was born on December 3, 1895, the youngest of six children, was the favorite daughter of Sigmund Freud. She is considered the founder of psychoanalytic child psychology.
Anna Freud analyzed not only children, but also adults – including Marilyn Monroe. She wrote about the Hollywood star : “fear of reality, a deeply insecure personality, paranoid schizophrenic with drawers.” And: “M. suicidal in the highest degree.” Some years later, Monroe died of an overdose of sleeping pills. Whether it was suicide or an accident, could not be determined.
There are even opinions
that Marilyn Monroe may have killed herself while under the influence of a protégé of the psychoanalyst Anna Freud.
